Brioche

Ingredients.

  • 8oz Plain flour
  • 1/2tsp Salt
  • 1/2oz Sugar
  • 2 Medium eggs
  • 2oz Butter
  • Level tsps dried yeast.
  • 1/2 tsp Sugar
  • 11/2 tbsp Warm water
    • Dissolve the yeast with the 1/2 tsp sugar into the warmed water. (110 F)
    • Melt the butter and allow to cool.
    • Beat the eggs
    • Add all the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients
    • Work into a soft dough. Then knead for 5 minutes.
    • Leave to rise. Can be done over 12 hours in the fridge. Cool rising makes the dough easier to shape
    • Shape. leave to rise for around 1 hour, and place in a very hot oven to bake.

Best served warm.
